If you want to evolve to space other than teleportation, and once you're up there and you find out how badly the Church, Christians, and Christianity treated you, keeping more of your kind from going or knowing about up there, baptismal rituals and crimes against you, etc., avoid going back to the planet thinking you're going to fight them especially after you're 10, 20, or 40 feet tall.  The 2011 movie 'Troll Hunter' explains what happens to you and some things you may have done wrong, eating too many minerals instead of life/dark energy, not staying in the upper atmosphere, not trying to leave the galaxy, etc.  Those of your kind still imprisoned on the planet by religions and superstitions, media, etc., think about breeding that stuff and the peoples it supports out of the race without having wars to do it.  It's your planet until you all leave so you might as well take charge of it.
