Your new optronic brain
Scientists have created a nano crystal device that can capture and store both light and sound together. Some uses are - a flat top pyramid with a nano fiber solar panel on one side that can also project light on to a wall, (see previous post) for recording and also playing back movies etc. Computing - used as (and, nor, etc. ) logic gates with nano machines using mirrored venetian blinds to block and unblock light while directing it, replacing the electronic 1's and 0's with light and darkness.
Everything has life (your new robot brain), the live components (rocks) are just a whole lot slower.
